Hinds Community College’s Emergency Alert System is called EagleOne Alert. It is used to communicate vital information to let students, parents and staff knows when there is an emergency on or around campus and what they need to do to be safe.
Hinds CC will use the EagleOne Alert network to notify subscribed parties of those emergencies. In the event an alert must be sent, District Emergency Management personnel will send out alerts through email, SMS/text, and/or voice message alerts. Emergency Management will conduct monthly checks of the system to ensure it is operating properly.
The EagleOne Alert network includes the following notification components:
SMS/Mobile*: Text and/or voice messages sent to cell/home phones. One must subscribe to receive these messages.
E-mail: Students/employees are automatically subscribed to EagleOne Alert with their HCC campus e-mail accounts.
Eagle Vision: Alert information will be displayed on the Eagle Vision televisions located on each of the campuses.
Web Alerts: Alerts posted on the Hinds CC EagleOne Alert Website and Hinds CC Website
Emergency Info Line: 601.857.3600 - During an Emergency or Closure a message will be recorded on this line.
Local Media: Alerts sent to local media outlets (radio, television, newspaper).
*While there is no charge to subscribe to EagleOne Alerts, your cell phone provider may charge a fee for delivery of text messages based on your calling plan. This is an optional service that will only be used to advise you of potential, developing, or existing critical emergencies.
The cellular number you use to register for EagleOne Alert text messaging will not be published in a directory or used for any other purpose. It will be used for alerts and for periodic testing of the EagleOne Alert system.
